Is Rice Water Good for Your Skin?

The rice water is suitable for any skin type. You can be sure that rice won’t provoke any undesirable allergy so this is the best choice even for those who have very sensitive skin. It is a great skin toner that will keep your skin smooth and glowing. In the morning before make up and in the evening before bedtime soak a cotton pad in the rice water and apply it on your face. Your skin tone will be even too.

  • Ugly pores can spoil one’s appearance by making face look unattractive (every girl knows that!). But rice water can help in narrowing skin pores. Soak a cotton pad into the rice water and apply it on your skin. It functions as an astringent and shrinks the pores.
  • Acne also can be treated with rice water. Using a cotton pat, apply rice water on areas with acne. And soon you will notice that facial redness will disappear gradually.
  • Eczema can be treated with this amazing liquid. Apply it on the affected area. This condition can be treated with regular application.
  • Your skin can be brighter using rice water, which is much better than many artificial products that are known to do the same effect but contain harmful chemicals. If you wash your face with rice water regularly, you will get the desired glow on your face.

What does Rice Water do for Your Face

This homemade cleanser will not only make your face clean, but with the healing and whitening properties of white rice, it will heal scarring, whiten your skin and diminish pimples and blackheads. Some people say that they see results overnight and others say that it takes patience but eventually this cleanser only does good and no harm.

My personal experience proves that rice water really works! First, I had to find the best ratio to apply rice water on my face. I will be honest, after first application I found out that my skin became even more dry – but this happened just because I didn’t dilute rice liquid with a cup of clean warm water. So those who want to try this natural remedy – don’t use rice water in its pure form, add some water to make it quite soft to skin. And if you have naturally dry skin, don’t overdo washing your face with rice water every day – this won’t do good to your skin complexion. At least, add 10-15 drops of base oil (coconut, olive, avocado – depending on your taste) so you won’t have the feeling of very dry skin.

People opinions. Rice Water Face Wash Reviews

Lots of people already appreciated the advantages of using rice beauty methods on skin. Let’s get to know what they think about natural face care treatment.

Charlie Sparrow: I’m a licensed aesthetician and Panchakarma therapist, and will share with you some wonderful information about this amazing product. Geishas have known about the benefits of rice water for centuries!!
Rice is rich in a complex of B vitamins called ‘inositol’ that helps promote cell growth, slows down the aging process and stimulates blood flow – the perfect recipe to tighten pores and brighten the face. Besides this, rice water also has moisturising, antioxidant and UV-absorbing properties, along with an ability to bind to naturally occurring copper in the skin.
The Face Rice Water has a wonderful emolliency. I use it in the morning, and use it in conjunction with a konjac sponge at night. I recommend this to clients wanting to improve their complexion and skin texture, as part of their at home treatment.

Ayriana: It smells really good. It feels like it delivers moisture and it does not leave my skin dry at all. It does not help prevent acne but it is a great regular face soap.

Jennifer: I would love washing my face with this cleanser! It has a nice smell, and leaves your face feeling nice, bright and soft. I don’t have anything bad to say about this cleanser.

Monica: When I first used this, i was a bit disappointed, it wasn’t as good as i thought it would be. The smell wasn’t as nice as other people have described. But it seemed brightened my face a little bit after i used it, so I guess after all, it was an okay cleanser to use

Raquel: I am curious about the other face cleansers but this was great! My skin felt clean almost squeaky while rinsing but not too drying. My skin felt tight after but I do have combination to dry skin. I recommend a great moisturizer after use if needed.

Jeeleeyan: I have a darker skin tone and I think that this does brighten your skin, but not whiten. The best way to describe this is that it makes your skin look more vibrant and healthier. I have used this for about a week now, and my skin is smoother than ever! I broke out a little bit after the first use (one small pimple), but by the following day, it went away—my skin just needed to get used to it, I guess.

How to Wash Face with Rice Water

When rice water is ready for use put the bowl with it into a sink, and wash your face gently with the water, by scooping it up and splashing it deliberately and carefully on your face about five or six times.

Empty the rice water into the sink, and rinse your face with regular cold tap water the same number of times to close skin pores. If you dilute rice liquid with additional cup of water – then you don’t have to wash it away, just let it dry out on your face naturally.

Also cotton pad or ball can be used. Just take a cotton ball and soak some toner in it. Gently apply this in a patting motion.

At the end pat your face with a clean dry towel, and enjoy fresher, tighter and smoother skin!

  1. Normally i would discard the rice water , in fact was actually throwing away nutrients .that are so beneficial …Thank you so much

  2. When the mention it makes your skin bright. Does that indicate that a dark skinned complex person’s skin will now become lighter?

    • Sunshine chealsea

It doesn’t mean you’ll become whiter overnight but a dark skinned person can use it to become gradually fairer

    • From what I’ve read. it doesn’t make your skin lighter. It just brightens it. like you have a youthful glow if that makes sense.

    • And you do not boil the rice. I’ve read one article where it said let it soak for 15 minutes and another article where it said soak it for 2 hours.

    • From the articles I’ve read, I’m not sure it removes wrinkles although it’s supposed to tighten it. And everything I’ve read said you are to leave it on. don’t rinse it off. Although I’m trying to figure out if I can put on moisturizer on afterwards.
