There are several drawbacks in using beer for beautiful hair. The alcohol could be too drying for hair, it strip away the natural oil from hair. And there seem to be controversial opinions on how beer should be used for maximum positive results. Some women say beer should first heat up in order to lower its drying alcohol content. Once it properly cools down, it can be applied directly on clean hair before completely rinsing it out. On the other hand, beer can be used directly as a leave-in hair conditioner.

There is nothing wrong if you apply beer on oily hair. Just remember that beer doesn’t fit dry hair or if you are using very aggressive hair dye. It will make your hair dry and leave the scalp feeling uncomfortable. If you wish to use all useful ingredients of beer you have to remove alcohol from it. You need to heat it up, but not boil.

If you have dark or dark-blond hair doesn’t feel afraid to use any kind of beer. But if you have very light blond or your hair was bleached it is better to avoid using bear because it can add the unpleasant dirty hue to your hair which is hard to remove.

I like using beer on my hair. I use it as a hair rinse after shampooing. I experienced a thickening effect after two weeks of experiments with beer. Turns out I was not imagining it because there is a theory that does makes your hair thicker. I think beer treatment is very suitable for those girls who have naturally thin hair.

I have damaged hair. I feel really bad about my hair, it is very thin. I’ve read reviews about beer benefits for hair so I decided to have a try. I mixed beer with egg yolk and organic honey. Apply the blend on hair roots and spread over the whole hair length. I leave that mask on for 30 minutes and then wash it off with a mild shampoo. Well, I noticed my hair became shiny and soft. I will continue using the beer mask for better results!

Beer mask was a discover for me! I mix a cup of beer with 1 egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of olive oil and rub this blend gently into the hair roots. I leave it on for 40 minutes. After that, I just wash my hair with my favorite shampoo. Some people complain beer may leave the smell in hair. This is not so! At least, while hair is drying you can feel the smell of beer but when it is completely dry , that smell disappears. I like that mask! The beer leaves my hair smooth and very shiny!

I faced a serious problem of hair loss. No matter what I tried for my hair, nothing could help. Giving a birth to my second child just made the situation go even worse. I’ve heard that onion and cayenne pepper mask may help to stop hair loss. So I tried. My hair became better but hair loss was still quite strong. Also, instead of using hair conditioners I started to rinse my hair with beer. Not pure beer, it was diluted with clean water. Pure beer will make your hair sticky and you will need to wash off that residue with water again. After rinsing hair you will notice that hair is shiny and very smooth! I like this natural remedy but it didn’t help much with hair loss.

I like to apply beer as a hair rinse. I pour it on my hair and then apply my conditioner immediately. I repeat this procedure twice a week and feel very pleased with the results! Don’t worry about beer smell in hair – it disappears once hair is dry. Since I started doing this, my hair is better definitely! I got rid of split ends, hair is shiny and voluminous! This beer treatment is suitable for any hair type.

I used to rub beer into hair roots for better nourishment. I leave it on for 20-25 minutes and then wash it off with plain water. I repeated this procedure for several months already, twice a week. I noticed my hair was growing faster. I don’t know whether it happened because of the scalp massage or just beer itself. Anyway, I feel happy with my hair!

    • Hi! Basically, wet hair can keep that smell for a while after beer rinse, but once it gets dry – you won’t have beer odor in your hair. So there is nothing to worry about.

  1. How this ingredients will help to grow hair to just apply on the scalp because, hair is not a living thing; it is dead. The hair follicle is alive. Putting vitamins on your hair will not nourish it as you can’t provide proper nutrition to something that is not living. Male pattern baldness in men is caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT.

    • I am an older person and have very white hair but it is very thin. I was wondering if beer would work for me or would it discolour my hair? Please reply

Hi, Kratika! Fresh unfiltered beer contains more beneficial nutrients in comparison with other types of beer. So, it will be very good for hair. If you wish to prepare the mask or hair rinse using beer, take into account your natural hair color. Better avoid using dark type beer if you have blonde hair, for other hair colors any type of beer is suitable. Good luck!
