Geranium is (Pelargonium roseum Willd) a perennial plant that grows in the subtropical and tropical climates. For the production of essential oil of geranium grown in the Congo, Egypt, and most of the other countries of North Africa, as well as Spain, France, Italy, China, India and Russia.

Geranium oil is obtained by steam distillation from the aromatic green plant parts, especially the leaves. To produce 1 kg of essential oil should be recycled 300-500 kg of raw material.
