Soothing remedies to cure nausea can be very effective if you are sure that reason for nausea isn’t serious enough. In other cases it is strongly recommended to consult a doctor.

Nausea is a feeling of unease and discomfort in the upper stomach with an involuntary urge to vomit. It can be caused by many reasons like from morning sickness to motion sickness, dehydration, food poisoning, medications, pollution, over eating etc.

Ginger Tea for Nausea Relief

This is the oldest and effective remedy for nausea. It promotes the secretion of various digestive enzymes to neutralize the stomach acids. So, it helps in better digestion. Ginger also contains phenols which help to relax the stomach muscles so that it reduces the over activity of the stomach and makes the bad stuff to pass faster. Here, you can take ginger in any form i.e., either in raw, cooked, tea, ale or any other form to cure this problem.

You will need: 2 inches ginger root, 2-3 cups of water, honey (as you wish).

Take the ginger root and wash it well. Then peel the ginger and cut it small pieces. For more effectively, crush it to make them very smaller pieces. Boil 2-3 cups of water over medium high heat flame. Now pour this ginger into the water. Leave it for about 5 minutes to boil. Remove this from heat and strain it (if you like you can or leave it) in a mug or cup. Add honey if you want and slowly sip this tea to get relax. Repeat this process, if you feel necessary.

Treating Nausea with Peppermint

It is one of the fresh scents which helps to prevent the upset stomach and gives relief from the nausea problem.

You will need: few drops of peppermint oil, cotton swab or q- tip.

Pour few drops of peppermint oil on cotton swab. Apply it directly to your gums. If you find necessary, you have to reapply again. If you don’t find a cotton swab or q – tip. Just wash your hands and pour some oil into your hands. Now use your finger tips to rub on your gums directly.

Lemon to Soothe Nausea

The smell of citrus (especially lemon or lime) helps to prevent the nausea feel by calming your stomach.

You will need: 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of honey.

Mix lemon juice and honey by taking equal proportions. Mix it well with your hand. Now lick it off slowly or take it slowly by using a spoon.

Milk Toast to Get Rid of Nausea

This is one of the best and old remedy for nausea. We all know that bland food will help to tame your stomach so for that you have to use milk and bread. Milk coats your stomach and bread will absorbs excess acid. As milk cannot take straightly as dairy causes upset to your stomach. Milk toast helps a lot when is irritated from over the counter pain medicines.

You will need: 1 piece of toast, 1 cup of milk, unsalted butter.

Take a cup of milk and heat it until its hot (but not boiling). Then take a bowl and pour this milk into it. Apply a bit of butter to the toasted bread piece. Crumble the toast into milk. Now eat it slowly to get relief from the nausea.

Cinnamon or Clove Tea to Ease Nausea

Cinnamon is a soothing herb which helps to prevent the nausea or vomiting. Cloves are used to treat digestive complaints and helps for better digestion. So, it has taken part in the remedy for nausea.

You will need: 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder or clove powder, 1 cup of boiling water.

Add cinnamon powder or clove powder in a cup of boiling water. Steep it for few minutes. Then strain the tea. Sip it slowly to get relief from the nausea. But make sure that not to try this remedy if you are pregnant.

Apple Cider Vinegar to Stop Nausea

Apple cider vinegar will also works well for the nausea problem. It helps to stop the repeated vomiting sensations to cure this problem.

You will need: 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, glass of water.

Take all the ingredients and mix it well to make it like a fine juice. Now drink this juice to get rid of the problem. Taking this for twice a day whenever you face this nausea problem will give relief from it.

Chamomile to Reduce Nausea

It contains calming and soothing compounds which helps to body muscles relax easing away stomach aches and vomiting to lessen the nausea.

You will need: 2-3 teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers (per cup), hot water.

Take a cup and pour dried chamomile herb in it. Add hot water into the cup and leave it for 3 minutes to infuse. Then strain it in another cup by using tea strainer. Add lemon juice or honey (optional depends on your wish). Drink it slowly to prevent this nausea problem. But make sure that don’t drink this tea if you’re pregnant or the one who faces ragweed allergies because it can cause more serious problems to you.

Lime Juice to Cure Nausea

It is also one of the oldest remedy for treating nausea with its smell. It is very effective in stopping nausea and vomiting immediately.

You will need: 10 drops of lime juice, 1 cup of water, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda.

Take a cup of water and then mix all the other ingredients one by one. Mix it until they all are dissolved in the water. Now drink this juice whenever you feel you are suffering with nausea.

Onions for Nausea Relief

Taking onions when you feel nausea will help you to get rid of the problem slowly.

You will need: 1 teaspoon of onion juice, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger.

Mix grated ginger in the onion juice. Take this with spoon to get relief from nausea. This also calms your tummy also to get relief.

Treating Nausea Naturally with Baking Soda

Baking soda has a property to soothe your stomach by neutralizing the stomach acids when it is taken.

You will need: 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 cup of water.

Add baking soda in water and mix it well. Drink this daily once when you feel nausea to get rid of it.

Mint to Soothe Nausea

The aroma of the mint herb itself will give relief from the nausea. You can try mint tea for relief.

You will need: 1 tablespoon of dry mint leaves, 1 pint of hot water.

Mix mint leaves in hot water. Steep it for about half an hour. The strain it and drink this slowly as tea. Strained mint leaves area also helpful in treating the nausea. So don’t toss it out. As eating these boiled leaves will also cures nausea.

Vegetable Broth to Prevent Nausea

It helps to get all the vitamins and minerals which are essential for the body when it facing the nausea problem.

You will need: water, variety of vegetables (onions, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, celery etc), seasoning of your choice (salt, pepper, garlic etc.).

Place all the vegetable in a large pot or saucepan. Add water to it and let it like that, until it comes to boiling. Then add seasoning of your choice and reduce the heat to simmer it for at least 30 minutes. Now strain out all the vegetables to get your broth. Drink it for instant energy and also to get rid of the nausea problem. Or you can try for chicken broth. But be sure to avoid it if you unable to cook it or take it.

Cranberry juice offers some essential nutrients and taste good without the sugar punch which helps to prevent the nausea by calming your stomach. So, drink the cranberry juice when you suffering from nausea especially in the situation, when you haven’t able to eat anything. As it helps to keep your body hydrated and ease your digestive tract too.
