DIY Organic Anti-Aging Eye Masks

The first sign of aging is the wrinkles under the eyes. Organic anti-aging eye masks proved their effectiveness targeting the under-eye area promising to combat everything from wrinkles to dry patches and puffiness.

With age, the elasticity of the skin and the fat content decreases. The skin layer around the eyes is very thin and it the first area that gets covered with wrinkles. The appearance of wrinkles can be caused by the following factors:

Lack of sleep adversely affects not only the well-being and health. Puffy bags under the eyes and new fine lines around the eyes, once again to remind you that the body did not have enough time to rest. Do not drink a lot of water before bedtime as the body rests at night and does not work in full force, as a result of excessive amount water it is getting accumulated in the tissues provoking puffiness. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables that will provide your skin with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

UV rays increase the production of free radicals, which play an important role in the appearance of wrinkles. You can help prevent the appearance of lines and wrinkles by protecting the body from overexposure to the sun. It is an open secret that sunlight is one of the causes of premature aging. Prolonged exposure to the sun damages the skin and accelerates aging faster like nothing else. To reduce the appearance of wrinkles and “crow’s feet”, try to wear sunglasses every time you go outside.

In order to tighten the skin around the eyes, smoothing out fine lines, you will need: avocado, potato starch, parsley, cucumber juice, almond and olive oil, vitamin E, vitamin A, wheat flour, regularity, patience and a positive emotions!

NOTE: The following recipes of eye masks include vitamin A, fruit and milk acids that make the skin become more sensitive to the sun exposure. Avoid using such masks if you have sensitive skin or allergy.

Eye Mask with Potato Starch

You will need: potato starch, milk, 1-2 tablespoon of olive oil (or almond oil), parsley and 1-2 leaves of fresh mint (if desired)

Whisk potato starch with milk, add other ingredients and mix well. Put the resulting mixture into a container and place into refrigerator to let cool.

Apply a ready mask on the skin around the eyes, also mask can be applied all over the face. To enhance the effect you can add the chopped parsley and 1-2 leaves of fresh mint before applying the mask. Let this mask work for 15-20 minutes, then wash off with cool water.

Remember that diluted potato starch can be stored in the refrigerator for several days and use as needed, but keep in mind that your mask is not spoilt.

NOTE: Potato starch can keep the attack of premature wrinkles at bay. Regular application of potato starch gives a healthy glow and softness to the skin.

Eye Mask with Cucumber

You will need: ½ fresh cucumber, 1 teaspoon of almond oil, wheat flour, 3 drops of vitamin A, 3 drops of vitamin E.

Grate a cucumber on a shallow grater and squeeze the juice. Mix the ingredients well and add wheat flour to make mask look more like thick paste. Apply this mask on eye area and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. The skin under eyes will be so soft and gentle.

NOTE: Cucumber contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and caffeic acid, both of which help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling – these acids prevent water retention, which may explain why cucumbers applied topically are often helpful for swollen eyes.

Eye Mask with Avocado

You will need: 1 tablespoon of avocado cream, 2 teaspoons of olive oil.

Mash avocado into a thick paste. Add olive oil and mix well. Apply on the skin around the eyes and leave it on for 20 minutes. Then carefully remove the mask with a soft cloth and gently rinse with lukewarm water.

NOTE: Avocado contains a lot of minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, sodium, copper, magnesium, also includes vitamins A, E, B and K. The result of applying avocado mask is that it reaches the deepest layers of the epidermis and gives elasticity even to the driest skin.

  1. Eye puffiness has always been my problem. Sometimes even brand cream can’t help much. But cucumber eye mask really works!
